Ojai Local Ripper

Ojai is a cool little town just 12 miles up Highway 33 from Ventura. "The VIllage" is known for its artist community, and is home to many cool little shops, restaurants and galleries. As of October 2010, Ojai has yet another reason to visit: a brand new, fun skatepark. This new park, designed by Site Design Group and built by CA Skateparks, is a great destination for a day trip from Los Angeles or Santa Barbara.
Ojai packs a lot of fun into a small footprint. The street course has the standard elements and then some, including a pyramid, ledges, rails, eurogap, and Pier 7 block. There are some fun lines to be had, flowing through the street and miniramp sections. A small disappointment is that most of the elements are on the small side, with transitions heights around 3-4' tall.
The bowl is the real gem of the park. It's amoeba shaped with a 9' deep end, 4' shallow pocket, and 5' side pocket. The bowl is smooth, fast and fun. It is finished with tiles and CA Skatepark's Golden State Coping (it's good and fast).
Bring a helmet, the cops stop by regularly and will remind you if you forget. Ojai skatepark is free and open from dawn to dusk.
Ojai skate park gets a rating of 9 out of 10.

+ Great vibe, awesome bowl with fast pool coping
- Big dead end wall in the street course... at least make it a tight, fun wallride
? This park sits in the same spot of the old wooden skatepark that opened in 2000.
