The Lowdown Santa Monica "The Cove" Skatepark
Rating 8

Located at Santa Monica's Memorial Park is "The Cove" Skatepark. Wally Hollyday and his crew did a great job back in 2005 with the design and construction of this one. The are 4 separate skate areas. The street course is transition heavy with lots of fun lines. It includes a spine with 2 pockets, pyramid, pump bumps and a super fun bank-to-wall. The small bowl is a 4'-5' deep boomerang shape with opposing roll ins at the elbow. The flow bowl has a 6' deep square shallow end, a 6' deep round pocket, 9' deep oval and 13' clamshell. Both the boomerang and flow bowls have metal coping throughout.

+ Lighted night sessions
+ Dog bowl pool is gnar deep
- Pay to skate
- Monitored with full pads and helmet enforced
- Check the website so you don't show up during a bmx session
? The flow bowl is on a serious downgrade, making it nearly impossible to get back upstream
